Hey there!

Hello, I'm Amanda!  I'm happy you found your way here!!

Did you know I didn't want to be a hairdresser? I know, right!

I fell into it and I absolutely love it! Back when I first started I didn't even really know what a proper 'blow dry' was... a swish over with the hairdryer was just not 'it'. Don't worry, I know all the tips and tricks now, and have 24 years of being on the floor under my belt to teach you too!

A move to the Gold Coast just after school landed me a job in a very busy salon as an apprentice way back in 2000. Loving creative activities made me know that this was the perfect industry for me.

Back in 2009, my partner and I made the move back to Stanthorpe for a more quieter life out of the city. Perfect to live here, because he is a quiet outdoorsy guy and I love being close to my family.

I've always dreamed of a salon that makes everyone feel at home when they walk through the door. When I opened Indigo Hair that same year, I was nervous as I'd only worked in large busy salons. Going solo was scary. I needn't have worried. Stanthorpe has a way of grabbing you with a big hug and everyone is so kind and generous. My hope is that the salon is just as homey and inviting to you as it has been to me.

When I'm not in the salon we are forever renovating our old 100yr old home and making memories with our young son. You'll find me teaching him how to cook (FYI I love to cook!), taking him on adventures. I like to sew (yes, Scrunch Junkie hair accessories is also me!), reading is also a favourite of mine. I will take any new read recommendations. Who knows, perhaps we need a salon book club? Now theres a thought... My secret indulgence is that I love a good Hallmark Christmas Movie. They are cheesy yet delightful!

If I sound like a great fit for you, please don't hesitate to drop in or give me a call, I would love to meet you.
